Albert Okumagba

CHAIRMAN

Albert Okumagba, is the chairman of the board: Mr. Okumagba is also the Group Managing Director/CEO of BGL PLC. Prior to joining the company, Mr. Okumagba was Manager and Head of Mergers and Acquisitions at Centre-Point Merchant Bank Limited. During his career at Centre-Point, Mr. Okumagba managed portfolios in Corporate Banking, Multilateral Agency Credits and traded on the floors of the Nigerian Stock Exchange on behalf of Centre-Point’s stock broking affiliate, Centre-Point Investment Limited.

 

Mr. Okumagba holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics from the University of Ibadan and a Master of Science Degree in Economics specializing in Monetary Economics from the University of Lagos. He is the Chairman, Bond sub-committee of the Capital Markets Committee (“CMC”), member of the Presidential Committee on the Bond Market, Chairman of the Technical and Strategy Sub-committee of the Bond Steering Committee. He was a council member of The Nigerian Stock Exchange from November 2003 to September 2006 and Chairman of the Association of Issuing Houses of Nigeria from 2002 to October 2006. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers.

 

 

 

 

Chibundu Edozie

DIRECTOR

Mr. Chibundu N. Edozie, is a Director of BGL Securities Ltd and also the Group Deputy Managing Director of BGL Plc and in charge of its strategic business platforms including BGL Asset Management Limited, BGL Private Equity Limited, BGL Securities Limited and the Investment Banking Group. He also currently oversees the international expansion of BGL Plc's operations. Mr Edozie also serves as a director on the boards of BGL Asset Management Limited, BGL Private Equity Limited and BGL Securities Limited, wholly-owned subsidiaries of BGL Plc.

 

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology and Mining from the University of Jos. He is an alumnus of the New York Institute of Finance, the IMD International Institute, Switzerland, and the Lagos Business School.

 

A consummate professional committed to the growth of the Nigerian capital market alongside global financial markets, and the expansive role of capital markets in the growth of the financial services industry, Chibundu has over 18 years experience in the Capital Market and Investment Banking industry. He is an authorized dealing clerk of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers and a past Member of the Governing Council of the Institute. He is also a member of the Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society.

 

Mr. Edozie was appointed by the Federal Ministry of Finance to the Committee on the Review of the Investment and Securities Act (ISA). He is Vice-chairman of the sub-committee I, a committee to conduct the preliminary assessment of the ISA. He has served on the Research and Technical Committee, Institute Membership Committee, Special Committee Investigating Financial Activities of the Institute, and the Special Committee Reviewing the Stockbrokers Act 2008 of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers.

 

 

 

 

Henry Laraiyetan

DIRECTOR

Mr. Henry Laraiyetan, is a Director of BGL Securities Ltd and also the Group Executive Director in charge of BGL Capital Management. He also sits on the Boards of BGL subsidiary companies. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and a Master of Science degree in Business Administration specializing in General Management from the University of Lagos. Prior to joining BGL Plc., he worked with International Merchant Bank Plc. (formerly First National Bank of Chicago) in Credit and Marketing department and later Financial Control group.

 

He has over 20 years working experience in Investment Banking, Asset Management, Securities Trading and Project Management. He has attended various local and international courses on Investment Banking, specialized Making Markets Work, Corporate Negotiations, Financial Modeling, Competitive Strategy and Developing Leadership Competencies at GIBS in South Africa, IESE Barcelona, Spain and IMD, Lausanne, Switzerland. He is an alumnus of the New York Institute of Finance, New York and the Lagos Business School. Mr Laraiyetan concluded an Executive Master of Business Administration program earning an MBA from the Ivy League Business School, Kellogg School of Management in North Western University, Chicago USA. A program jointly run by Schulich School of Business in York University, Toronto Canada. He is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) with certification from Project Management Institute in Philadelphia, USA.

 

Mr. Laraiyetan is an authorized dealing clerk of the Nigerian Stock Exchange and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers. He was formerly the Director of Finance of the Association of Issuing Houses of Nigeria. Mr. Laraiyetan was on the Federal Government of Nigeria fact finding mission to Brazil in 2007 on Energy and Agriculture (and allied products) His core competence spans across competitive strategy, financial advisory, due diligence, corporate restructuring, business turnaround, structuring M & A deals and project finance.

 

 

 

 

 

Wale Oluwo

Managing Director

Mr. Tony Nwozor is currently a Vice President and the Managing Director of BGL Securities Limited. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Masters in Business Administration. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers, an Investment Banker and astute Securities Trader on the Floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange. He worked with City-Code Trust Limited from 1991 to 1997 where he rose to the position of a General Manager. He joined Merchant Bank of Commerce (Now UBA Plc) in 1997 and was later seconded to BGL in November, 1997. He has attended several international and local courses and seminars including courses on: Effective Pricing of Securities in the Secondary Market; Marketing and Selling Financial Services and Financial Analysis for Investment Advice. Tony Nwozor is a Pension Consultant and an Associate member of Certified Pension Institute of Nigeria (CPIN).

 

 

 

Wale Oluwo

Deputy Managing Director

Ms. Loratto C. Onyenorah is a Vice President and Deputy Managing Director of BGL Securities Ltd. She holds a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Economics from Marymount College,Tarrytown, New York, USA and a Juris Doctorate Degree in law from Howard University Law School, Washington DC, USA and was enrolled as a Solicitor and Advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria in 1986. Prior to joining BGL Ltd, she was Deputy General Manager Treasury Group of Centre Point Bank Plc, where she made a career in the Treasury Department for 16 years
