Management
CHAIRMAN
Albert Okumagba, is the chairman of the board: Mr. Okumagba is also the Group Managing Director/CEO of BGL PLC. Prior to joining the company, Mr. Okumagba was Manager and Head of Mergers and Acquisitions at Centre-Point Merchant Bank Limited. During his career at Centre-Point, Mr. Okumagba managed portfolios in Corporate Banking, Multilateral Agency Credits and traded on the floors of the Nigerian Stock Exchange on behalf of Centre-Point’s stock broking affiliate, Centre-Point Investment Limited.
Mr. Okumagba holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics from the University of Ibadan and a Master of Science Degree in Economics specializing in Monetary Economics from the University of Lagos. He is the Chairman, Bond sub-committee of the Capital Markets Committee (“CMC”), member of the Presidential Committee on the Bond Market, Chairman of the Technical and Strategy Sub-committee of the Bond Steering Committee. He was a council member of The Nigerian Stock Exchange from November 2003 to September 2006 and Chairman of the Association of Issuing Houses of Nigeria from 2002 to October 2006. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers.
DIRECTOR
Mr. Chibundu N. Edozie, is a Director of BGL Securities Ltd and also the Group Executive Director, Capital Management of BGL Plc; overseeing Market Making & Underwriting Division as well as BGL Securities Ltd, BGL Asset Management Ltd and BGL Private Equity Ltd. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology and Mining from the University of Jos and he is an authorized dealing clerk of the Nigerian Stock Exchange and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers. Prior to joining BGL, he worked for IMB Securities Plc and Fountain Securities Limited.
Mr. Edozie is an alumnus of the New York Institute of Finance, New York and the Lagos Business School. He is also a council member of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers.
DIRECTOR
Mr. Henry Laraiyetan, is a Director of BGL Securities Ltd and also the Group Executive Director, Advisory Services of BGL Plc; overseeing Corporate Finance, Structured Finance and Public Sector Advisory Divisions. A graduate of Finance and with a Masters degree in Business Administration from University of Lagos. Mr. Laraiyetan has over 18 years of Investment Banking and Asset Management experience.
Mr. Laraiyetan is an alumnus of The New York Institute of Finance, New York, IMD, Larsanne, Switzerland and Lagos Business School. He is an authorized dealing clerk of The Nigerian Stock Exchange and an Associate of The Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers.
MD/CEO
Mr. Cornelius E. Oboh is the Managing Director / CEO of BGL Securities Limited. He was at a time a Vice President and Technical Adviser to the Group Managing Director/CEO. He holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Economics from the University of Lagos. Prior to joining BGL Limited, he worked with Cardinal Securities Limited, International Merchant Bank Plc(now First Inland Bank Plc), Midas Merchant Bank, (now First City Monument Bank Plc), First City Merchant Bank (now First City Monument Bank Plc) and Metropolitan Merchant Bank (UBA Group).
He has extensive corporate finance and investment banking experience with specialization in project advisory. Mr. Oboh is also an authorised dealing clerk of the Nigerian Stock Exchange and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers.
Deputy Managing Director
Mr. Wale Oluwo is the Deputy Managing Director of BGL Securities Limited. Wale currently drives the business development areas of the company. He headed Wealth Management Division of BGL Limited before his redpoyment as DMD of BGL Securities Ltd. He has a B.Sc. (Economics) from the University of Lagos, and is an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria. Prior to joining BGL Limited, Mr. Oluwo worked with Prudent Bank Plc (now Skye Bank Plc). He was the pioneer General Manager of Intercontinental Capital Market Limited-a wholly owned subsidiary of Intercontinental Bank Plc. He was at various times the Group Head of the Investment Banking and the Energy and Telecommunications Groups of Intercontinental Bank Plc.
He was at a time the Group head, Corporate Banking and Corporate Finance of Continental Trust Bank Limited (now UBA Plc). Other banking institutions where he worked include, First City Monument Bank, FSB International Bank (now Fidelity Bank) and Prime Merchant Bank. He has attended various corporate finance, portfolio management, and management and development courses at the New York Institute of Finance, GIBBS in South Africa, and Citibank School of Banking.
Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Victor Enahoro is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of BGL Securities Ltd, he oversees Operations and IT in BGL Securities Limited. Prior to this he was head of the Private Sector Advisory Division of BGL Limited. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from University of Ibadan and a Master of Science degree in Banking and Finance from University of Benin. He is an Associate of the Institute of the Chartered Accountants of Nigeria. Prior to joining BGL Limited, Mr. Enahoro worked with Citizens International Bank Limited(now Spring Bank), Corporate Finance Department, PBTG Consulting in several functions including Corporate Restructuring and Repositioning and Training. Prior to that, he worked with Premium Securities Limited, a subsidiary of FBN (Merchant Bankers) Limited (now First Bank of Nigeria Plc) as a Portfolio Investment Analyst. He has received specialized training in privatization transaction structuring, corporate finance, project finance, financial modeling and business valuation.
