Introduction

Incidence of disaster has brought home to companies the loss that can happen in such cases.  A recent report indicated that companies which suffered a total loss due to fire or natural disaster, of their documentation or digital data went out of business within 12 months.  Document scanning and archival enable you to have multiple copies of your documents and electronic data on and off-site and these can be re-instated within minutes of any disaster.

 

Storage is essential in helping enterprises of all sizes and types around the world house information needed to achieve their business goals.  Managing this storage within a framework of legal requirements, usage and availability needs, and operational-cost realities can be daunting.  The challenge is the growth in storage demand due to digital content, e-mail, internet-based applications and emerging technology.

CSCS Digital Storage and Retrieval Center‘s document conversion service includes: Paper preparation, scanning of paper documents, indexing the document images, storing them in the database, and hosting them for secure online retrieval. Our conversion projects are conducted either onsite (at customers’ facility) or offsite (at the Center’s facility) at customer’s request. We scan documents of all sizes using our sophisticated high speed duplex scanners which have capacity to scan over 100,000 pages per day into most formats including TIFF, PDF, HTML, JPEG etc.

Our Web-based document management system affords companies the ability to archive and process data on real-time.  Secure access is available to authorized users from any location.  We fully administer our sites for backup, software and hardware upgrades, security monitoring, etc.

All project conversion phases such as preparation, scanning, indexing; OCR/ICR, validation, storage etc. can be done by CSCS Digital Storage and Retrieval Center , directly or by our client.

We have state-of-the-art techniques that can handle multi-million naira conversions, client-site facilities management and “on demand” information retrieval.

(b)       Digital Document Storage and Retrieval

CSCS Digital Storage and Retrieval Center offers a full range of digital storage and retrieval services with online access for seamless retrieval.

This service involves clients uploading digital data into our storage. With our web-based document management solution, you can search, select, view, print or email any document you want that has been stored.

You can also track the exact location, movement and status of your information, even generate reports and manage your account. You control the information you need, when you need it, via any communication link of your choice from your home or office computer.

Once your files are uploaded, you are ready to go. User name and password will be given to you for access to your secured electronic data. With your passcode, you can from any location access your digital data (in whatever format) stored in our center – using our robust web-based solution. All you need is a link to access our network and a web browser. It’s quick and it’s easy.

Our Document Management Software enables you to search, access, and view your complete digital documents. Using your password, protected log-in, and an elaborate choice of permissions that can be assigned to each document, you can then access your account: request specific documents, or search for groups of documents. You may administer your digital data, View, print, email documents, generate reports online and print out records in your digital archive, including history and traffic reports.

You are in total control of the information you need, when you need it, 24/7, from anywhere there is communication link to our network.

 

Storage capacity

CSCS Digital Storage and Retrieval Center has the capacity to store any size of electronic data or record, no matter the format. Our on-demand enterprise storage system can be scaled to more than 300Terabyte. All our storage media have storage retention capacity of maximum life cycle, minimum of 50 years.

Our professionally deployed storage facility is platform independent.
